Muhammad Omer Iqbal

Personal Profile

Muhammad Omer Iqbal is a software engineer working at Microsoft Corporation. He is happily married and has been living in the United States and the Seattle region since 2001.

Outside of work, Omer is involved in researching theological aspects of Islam since 2000. He regularly publishes his research and maintains his blog at omeriqbal.com. In addition, he currently maintains a Seattle-PI Reader Blog, "Muslim Perspectives". He is one of the founding members and directors of Islamic Communication Association of Northwest – a non-profit aimed at reaching into the Northwest community – and is one of the speakers of its Islamic Speakers Bureau. He is actively involved in speaking about the Islamic perspective before multi-faith audiences.

A native of Pakistan, Omer has recently been focusing on sociopolitical issues as a way of educating the public about Islam and Muslims. In his spare time, Omer enjoys large format photography, traveling and spending time with his family.
